Potions Lesson 2: (Years 1-4)

Mycroft walked through the halls of the castle, a small smile on his face. He had missed the castle, but his family business came first. Now being the head of the Holmes family brought a new level of prestige to his role of Headmaster. With his father forcefully retired, he now took both roles, his father's old position, and his Headmaster position at Hogwarts. But at the end of the day, he went back to his desired position as potions master.

Looking at the room, he sighed seeing how it was not up to his expectations and remodeled everything back to it's clean and pristine look. Nodding to himself he walked back to his desk, and sat against it, sighing in relief at how great it looked.

Looking at the board, he waved his hand writing popping up saying the lesson of the day: Black Fire Potion

It had seemed like forever, but Tristan had finally gotten used to the layout of the place, and seeing as the Potions Classroom was near his common room, he had taken his time getting out of bed. His bag was slung over one shoulder, not on his back as it usually was. As he entered class, he looked around, realizing that he was the only student there. The Professor also wasn't the same one as the last class, and he frowned slightly as he took a seat in the second row.

"Morning," he greeted, removing his writing materials. He considered asking about the other Professor but decided against it, not wanting to pry.

Stacy walked towards the potions classroom. She wasn't sure what they will do today but she likes this lesson usually, even if she isn't the best one in her class. She at least doesn't give up easily and wants to succeed in it no matter what. She soon walked in and noticed just few people here. "Hello," she said with smile and did sat somewhere middle of the classroom.

Potions had always interested Natasha. She wasn't sure why, it just seemed like a bit of fun. She also liked the location, the air here was chill and cool, and she enjoyed the look of the interior. She made her way to the classroom, giving a small nod to the Professor that she noted wasn't the same one as the other lesson. She took a seat in class and got out her materials for the lesson.

Louise followed in after the first few students and immediately clocked the change in the room, smiling at the familiarity. "Morning Professor Holmes." She greeted cheerfully, taking her usual seat in the room and read the board for what they'd be working on today. It sounded interesting and challenging so she happily grinned while preparing her desk.

Kedzie didn't know much about potions but she was going to try her best to get the hang of it all. The Ravenclaw walked into the classroom and looked around to see if she saw anyone here she knew, she saw familiar faces, Kedzie took a seat at an empty place towards the front of the classroom. She gave a polite smile towards the Professor before getting out her book.

As Mycroft saw more and more students entering in the classroom, he noticed that many were confused at the fact that it wasn't the old professor. Sighing, he sat in front of his desk looking at them enter, only Miss Grey signaled any acknowledgement of who he was. He wanted to wait for more students to show, but it was clear enough that the faster he started the faster the children could learn.

"Good morning students" he greeted, "If you don't know who I am, my name is Mycroft Holmes, I am both your Headmaster and your potions professor. I know that some of you had the privilege of learning of a substitute, but I assure you that will rarely happen. If you must know, I don't play around in potions, and I expect you to have read before every class time. No one just passes my classes without them actually learning."

Hopping off his desk, he walked towards the front and placed a hand on his desk and looked back.

"Let's start, please tell me what the Black Fire Potion is"

Violet wasn't phased at running late, though she thought her own incompetence to be unfavourable that morning. She was rarely late for anything, though this morning, she had unusually slept in. She had hurried to get ready and get her things, and made her way swiftly and quickly to the potions room, keeping her ever cool composure as she entered into the classroom, catching the last part of his introduction to the lesson.

"Let's start, please tell me what the Black Fire Potion is"

"It's a potion that protects someone from fire," she answered lazily and took a seat.

Natasha had been just about to answer when a Hufflepuff girl had cut in lazily, as she entered the classroom. No matter, Natasha, being an avid reader with a lot of free time, had heard of the potion "If I remember correctly, when you drink it gives an icy sensation and protects from most, not all magical fires," she added quietly. It wasn't that she was shy, she just had a quiet voice.
