Ewan had returned to Hogwarts, after the bright lights of fame drew him into pursing another world tour to promote his new book. Sadly he had to cut his trip short as for he couldn't get the audiences he was expecting. But in typical Ewan fashion, not even this damaged his already over inflated ego.

Ewan made his way to the front of the class under one arm was a roll of posters. And with a quick flick of his wand the posters plastered themselves around the room. They were all posters of Ewan, either he was signing books to his adoring fans or he was shown giving his books to the less fortunate wizards and witches. Of course in everyone he had a cheesy grin on his face.

He smiled and admired his work as he waited for his students to come in.

As a new class was back, Tess immediately put it on her schedule. She was excited for the fact that History of Magic was taught once more and was curious to see how it would be taught. Pushign the door open she popped her head curiously to see who it was taught by.

Entering, she smiled softly at the professor, but was a bit confused at the fact that there were pictures of just him. Still, she had to admit the view was nice, if not a bit confusing about what it had to do with the subject.

"Good afternoon professor" she replied softly before taking her seat.

Josh had noted History of Magic had become available once more, and had added it to his list of N.E.W.T.S. So many people seemed to drop subjects for the final two years, but Josh had chosen to keep everything going. Ultimately, it wouldn't matter what he finished with in regards to grades, he was destined for the top, and grades were not going to stop him.

Pushing open the door, Josh took in the room and shook his head slightly. He remembered this professor, the egotistical man who believed he was much more capable than he was. Josh had believed the school had gotten rid of him, but it seemed that was not the case. Josh nodded towards the Head Girl, sitting a row behind her and taking out his books.

There was no acknowledgement towards the professor, however, but then very few afforded that luxury from Josh.

History of Magic wasn't a subject that he was used to but he was going to give it a try because he needed the extra points towards class so he can make it to next year. Ryan walked in and only saw two other students and that was two Slytherins. He didn't care since his girlfriend was a Slytherin but he barely interacted with the other Slytherins since they hate the Gryffindors. He sat down and waited patiently for the class to begin.

Ewan smiled as the first student entered, it was the Hogwarts Head Girl "Good afternoon to you to Miss Holmes, and may I just say it is simply wonderful to see that our Head Girl is from Slytherin, back when I was a student Slytherin's often didn't amount to much" the man said, he hadn't quite understood that back handed compliments weren't as acceptable or flattering as he thought they were.

Two more students entered he figured this would probably be the class size, well at least until word had gotten around he was teaching once more. "Welcome 6th and 7th years to History of Magic, now I will say this please wait until the end of the class for pictures or signed copies of my books, or even questions about my expeditions. We must stay on task in this class"

Ewan then began strolling up the centre of the classroom "When I say the word She-Wizard, what pops into your minds?" the man asked

"Good afternoon to you to Miss Holmes, and may I just say it is simply wonderful to see that our Head Girl is from Slytherin, back when I was a student Slytherin's often didn't amount to much"

Tess had never been so insulted in her life; she was used to snide remarks about her looks, posture, social cues, etc. But never once had she been put down for her house. The fact that the Professor said the backhanded compliment so casually as if she wasn't going to catch it annoyed her. If he would play this way, she figured a small remark would play no harm.

"Thank you professor, but I have to disagree with your comment. If I remember correctly my brother, a former Slytherin, did amount to something, as in your boss" she replied sweetly.

Sweetness often amounted to so much farther than rudeness. At this point, if she lost point she wouldn't care, she would earn them back quickly enough. She was too stubborn to answer his question, instead forced herself not to roll her eyes at his antiquated phrase.

Ewan paused and looked at the Slytherin girl who was speaking, he felt himself flush red as she mentioned that her brother Professor Holmes had achieved a lot, it never occurred to Ewan that they were related mainly because he was to busy engrossed in his own little world.

"Ah, yes of course he has done well for himself, not reached my level of fame but he has been noted for his brave deeds and thats a start" he then strolled closer towards Tess "I suppose there is always going to be the very occasional few Slytherins who do well for themselves, but that probably pure chance, just like a broke clock is still right twice in a day" he said with a light chuckle while playfully slapping her arm.

Ewan stared around the class, waiting to see if anybody had an answer for his question "Nobody? no answers? Ok not to worry well a She-Wizard is what we today would just call a witch, see because when a great historical events such as the International Warlock Convention the focus was mainly on wizards, an that witches could learn basic domestic spells but they didn't need to know more advanced spells. So hence a group of proactive witches got together to form an association know as the She-Wizard Association"

The man then looked around the class "So does anybody want to take a guess at what year this association formed?" he asked

Josh watched the display before him with little and less enthusiasm. The idiot called professor was well out of his bounds, but the Murray heir watched from the sidelines as Tess put the man back in his place. His whole family had been in Slytherin and his father now worked for a top potion company on freelance basis and his mother ran the mortuary at St Mungos. But he didn't play that card because Tess played the best one.

A smirk touched his features as Tess reminded the man of his employer. Josh didn't miss the subtle threat there either.

But as the man dared to touch a student, Josh bristled. His icy blue eyes turned colder in that moment, watching the man carefully. As he gave little time for an answer, no one did, but the second question Josh had a vague answer. Not his favourite, but an answer.

"It would have been post 1289 since that was the date of the International Warlock Convention." He supplied, his tone as icy as his glare at the older man.

To say Gina was late was an understatement. She'd forgotten about History of Magic and to be quite honest she'd thought about bunking. However, there was a small voice in her head telling her that despite being rebellious, she simply couldn't skip. She could sit quietly at the back but not skip.

As she entered, Gina noted the tension and slipped in to a seat at the back, not drawing attention to herself as she waited to work out what was going on there.

The flush in the professor's face brought a great joy in her, the fact that she, little Tess Holmes put him in his place. A small sweet smile remained on her own face at his weak excuse, that is until he walked closer to her desk. Her eyes couldn't help but slide up to his face, his proximity making her uncomfortable.

"I suppose there is always going to be the very occasional few Slytherins who do well for themselves, but that probably pure chance, just like a broke clock is still right twice in a day"he said with a light chuckle while playfully slapping her arm.

Her eyes widened as she felt his hand on her arm, and flinched. It was by no means painful, but she was not used to physical contact, especially unprompted. Looking up at him, her caramel colored eyes hardened and her lips formed a thin line. This man was obviously from a lesser house at Hogwarts, his hostility for Slytherin felt like he would be a former Gryffindor. Her shoulders were tight with annoyance and her face was already losing the enthusiasm she started with.

At his question, Tess wondered exactly where he was going with this lesson. Thankfully Josh was the one to come to her rescue, at least the Professor's rescue before she began to hex him, or say something stupid.

"It would have been post 1289 since that was the date of the International Warlock Convention."

Ewan's attention turned towards the Slytherin boy who began speaking, he wasn't expecting to much. But to the man's surprise the boy produced somewhat of a correct answer. Ewan gave his wand a sharp flick and "1292" appeared on the board

Pushing himself off against the board he began to speak again "Yes thats correct, take 5 points to Slytherin, the exact year is 1292, two years after the formation of the International Warlock Convention. So these witches really did pave the way for women to be equal to men when it came to the wizarding world. The leader of the association, Fayette Goldwind organised many demonstrations, such as women refusing to use any domestic spells therefore forcing their husbands and men to use muggle means to clean, as for many wizards didn't bother to learn domestic spells" Ewan then flicked his wand and what he said appeared on the board

"Now naturally the members of the She-Wizard Association faced harsh consequences for their rebelling, anyone care to list some of the punishments they received?" Ewan asked.

Lucy had been late to a few lessons today, and she detested being late. She hurried to History of Magic, sliding into the classroom "Sorry Professor," she murmured softly, "Bad day," she added. She wasn't her usual, punctual self, and it annoyed her profoundly. She slid into a seat quietly and hastily got out her parchment and quill to take notes.

Georgina wasn't overly interested in the movement of the witches before her time. Of course, it was great that they'd done all that, all this equality stuff that every girl obviously had to be so very grateful for. But really, was it that interesting? Gina went for no.

The Hufflepuff sat quietly, dozing slightly because it was so peaceful in this room. Nothing strenuous. That was until it fell relatively silent and nobody looked to want to answer the question. Trying to pull back her focus, Gina tried to remember what the question had been.

"Now naturally the members of the She-Wizard Association faced harsh consequences for their rebelling, anyone care to list some of the punishments they received?"

Ah, yes. Now, did she punt for something relatively harmless, or something quite disgusting? "Were the leaders hunted down to try and stop the movement? Or, perhaps their husbands kept their wives homes to not allow them to join the rally?" The witch suggested, though she had absolutely no clue.

Rhian walked slowly through the corridors on the first floor. I felt like forever since she'd been down this way, as she hadn't taken the class in over a year. She even got a bit confused when she tried to go into the wrong classroom. But the muggle books and artifacts littering the room were a dead giveaway that she was in the wrong place. Turning around, she could hear voices behind the next door.

Pulling open the heavy wooden door, she heard the professor giving some lengthy description. It wasn't a topic she knew much about, really. Rhian thought she may have come across something about it once, but history was never really her biggest interest.

The Gryffindor took a seat near the back, with an apologetic half smile towards the professor. She would say sorry, but that would interrupt class. He asked a question at the end, one that she wasn't quite sure how to answer. Instead of making a complete fool of herself, she pulled out a quill and parchment, taking notes as class continued.

Cassidy was running extremely late to History of Magic. She never usually was late, but today her alarm had decided not to work. She had rushed through the corridors, robes splayed out behind her, and long, red hair in a tangly mess as she sprinted. She arrived at the classroom, completely out of breath, and rugged and dishevelled "Sorry sir," she breathed as she walked in to take her seat, hastening to get her notebook and pen ready for taking notes.

Bethan didn't much like History of Magic. Still, she was eager to do well in all her subjects and that involved turning up to classes. But once again, she lost track of time and ended up a few minutes late. She really needed to get better at timekeeping. As she rushed down the corridor, she wondered whether or not she'd be in trouble. Was she even that late? If she ran, she might make it.

Alas, she didn't, and when she turned up the class was already in full swing. She found herself taking a few surprised steps backwards when she was meant with a large collection of pictures of the professor. That was slightly... odd. Feeling a bit creeped out by all the Professor McNairs everywhere, she actually went into the classroom. "Sorry, Professor," she said, hurrying towards a desk in the middle of the classroom.
