Mycroft walked through the halls of the castle, a small smile on his face. He had missed the castle, but his family business came first. Now being the head of the Holmes family brought a new level of prestige to his role of Headmaster. With his father forcefully retired, he now took both roles, his father's old position, and his Headmaster position at Hogwarts. But at the end of the day, he went back to his desired position as potions master.

Looking at the room, he sighed seeing how it was not up to his expectations and remodeled everything back to it's clean and pristine look. Nodding to himself he walked back to his desk, and sat against it, sighing in relief at how great it looked.

Looking at the board, he waved his hand writing popping up saying the lesson of the day:Elixir to Induce Euphoria

Mary walked down to the dungeons, expecting to see the substitute teacher again. He was a good Professor and the Head Girl quite liked him, but she missed Professor Holmes. The man was demanding, yes, but she felt like she needed someone strict for her last year. She was determined to do well in her NEWTs, especially in Potions.

She walked in the classroom and grinned happily when she saw her old Professor there. "Welcome back, sir." Mary greeted him. It had been a stressful week again and having Professor Holmes back was a very pleasant surprise.

Jackson had not been amused by the first potions class of the year and had just about made up his min to skip the second when he heard Professor Holmes would be returning to take over his regular lessons. Just hearing the Hogwarts Headmaster's name had made Jackson stand straighter and unconsciously reach to straighten his shirt and tie. The potion master was certainly not a man to displease, ever.

And yest, it wasn't just that about Professor Holmes which made Jackson respect him, the boy reflected as he made his way to class. The man failed to slide neatly into the category of teachers Jackson had developed years ago as a kid. He was neither the mollycoddling kind, nor a complete asshole. He didn't show off, he didn't reassure or comfort nor did he belittle or traumatize and he most certainly did not take any bullshit from anyone.

And the man could make dragons!

And best of all, Professor Holmes saw everyone as an equal. To him, it didn't matter how a student was outside his class, it only mattered how much they achieved in the labs themselves. Everyone was subjected to similar standards of strictness and everyone was looked upon with the same sort of disappointed ire should they fail. Professor Holmes appeared to see no reason why anyone should be exempted from working hard and following his instructions and that was what made him a man's man in Jackson's opinion.

"Morning Sir," the raven haired boy murmured, for once no smirk on his face. He didn't even send a playful remark to the Head Girl, merely taking a seat by an empty station, waiting for the lesson to begin.

Looking at onle a few enter, he noticed how quickly time had passed seeing how they had grown. It seemed it was only yesterday he was forced to look down to even address them. And while there wasn't a big difference now to certain students, they were still shorter, but less looking down.

And now that it seemed like enough students had entered, he got up from his desk and walked in front of it making it a more comfortable setting. He was tough, but he wanted them to understand that he wanted good for them.

"Welcome to potions, I'm sorry that you're graced with my face rather than your substitute, but let's face it, we're back to normal and I don't take mediocre potions. Let's get right to business. Can anyone tell me what the Elixir to Indue Euphoria does? And please don't reiterate the textbook, if I wanted that answer I'd read the damn book

If Jackson believed in things like fate, he would have thought it was pushing him in Prissy Miss Mary's direction as the two once again turned out to be the only one to show up in class. Deciding not to dwell on such a grim prospect, the Nightshade instead focussed on Professor Holmes.

"Can anyone tell me what the Elixir to Indue Euphoria does? And please don't reiterate the textbook, if I wanted that answer I'd read the damn book."

Clearly the potion master's vacation had been more work related than a holiday, the boy surmised as he raised his hand and waited to be called upon. "The potion to induce euphoria... makes you act like an idiot," Jackson managed in as plain words as he could find. "It makes you really happy, or rather, it makes you think you're really happy for a certain length of time. Basically its like Vodka except you don't have to do multiple shots before you feel the effects."

Jareth walked in to the Potions classroom, not caring he was late. He had been busy fooling around with his friends. He saw the usual potions teacher, Professor Holmes was back. "Sup Professor?" Jareth said walking in and casually sitting down. He didn't even bother pulling books out or anything, instead he plonked his feet up on the table and looked bored.

When Jackson answered the question, Jareth hardly paid attention, until Vodka was mentioned. "Vodka? Who has Vodka? I could go for some right now! School is really starting to wear my party aura down. Who has the Vodka?" he asked.

Mary raised her eyebrow at the Belladonna boy who strutted in the classroom like he didn't have a care in the world. It was unsettling, especially in the strict world of Potions and Professor Holmes. It was also annoying and she almost snapped at him when he put his feet on his desk, but she decided not to say anything. This was Professor's classroom and she had a feeling he wouldn't thank her. So instead she just ignored him.

"It's supposed to cure depression, but... you're only feeling happy while the potion lasts. Like Jax said, it makes you think you're happy but then it wears off and you're back to normal. And you can't take it all the time, there are side effects." She added to Jax's answer, thinking back to last year when she thought the Elixir would help her move on. All it did was give her intervals of euphoric happiness and then when it wore off, hours of despair and guilt.
