Adjusting. (Tessa grey ((Open)) )

It took at least a week of reading and re-reading the letter from the Murray's before Louise believed it was real. She'd left the letter on the bedside table but every ten minutes or so would read it again. It hurt like hell to read but she continued to do so till she was declaired well enough to get out of bed on her own. The field healing Thana must have done was a life saver and the only thing the healers had to do was re-open, clean and heal over again while giving her blood replenishers to make up for the amount she'd lost. She couldn't remember how she had gotten here too clearly but she wasn't sure she really wanted to know. 

This morning she'd sent back everything the Murray's had given her and sent a letter to Gringots to decline any attempt to put money into her account from them. She wasn't sure where she was to go from here, and was sitting in the hospital ward pondering her options. She didn't want to ask anyone to put up with her for long, since it seemed like no one wanted her for very long. She thought about Miss Sheridan but since she no longer needed to be trained she decided against being a burden to the woman. She didn't exactly wish to go back to her Aunt's again, not because she didn't love the woman but she still felt like a stranger to her. She didn't know very many people who would take her in. Perhaps she should start looking for a place to work at and find somewhere to live by herself. Surly it couldn't be too difficult? 

One of the nurses told her she had visitors today so she wasn't to go anywhere, she almost snorted at that, where was she going to go exactly? The only place she went was to the nurse's station to ask when she would be allowed to leave. She got the same answer every time, not until someone came to collect her, since she was underage still. 

So Louise was sitting cross legged on her bed, her bandages had been removed that morning after her last dose of salves and was wearing a simple t-shirt with the left sleeve stitched to the shoulder, and jeans. She'd been trying to tie the laces to her shoes but was having some difficulty, eventually giving up and asking if the nurses knew a spell that would tie knots. That done and fully dressed she waited for whoever it was wanting to see her.

Lucas had needed some time alone for a while, his brother had been stabbed, and his adoptive sister and best friend lay in a coma. He had gone to ShadowBane manor to see what was what, there wasn't a lot for him to do until both of them healed. Lucas found a letter addressed to him from Thana, curious. He opened it.

Upon reading the contents Lucas decided to go visit Louise Grey, one of Thana's friends and a very good student that he taught. He spoke to the nurse and found out where she was.

Walking in he found Louise, she clearly seemed upset. Lucas could understand why, the poor girl had lost an arm. He had seen Thana heal it on the night if the battle. " Hello Louise" Lucas said, sitting down opposite the young girl. " How're you feeling?"

Tessa found out that Louise was in the hospital. So she was on her way over; she knew that Dominique wanted to make sure that her cousin was alright. It had been a while since they seen Louise. She was really missing her niece. It has been a long time since they all were a family. Tessa wasn't really wanting to tell Louise about Zaire, and how he stood her up. She didn't want to burden her niece. This was something that she wanted to get through on her on. Dominique was now six year old. She knew that it has been awhile since Louise seen Dom. She knew that Dom was growing up fast.

Dominique walked into the room and ran over and hugged Louise. She was was grinning ear to ear as she missed her cousin. The last time they saw each other Louise was selling chocolate. " Louise!!!"

Tessa stood back as she was going to let Dom have her time with her.

Of all the people Louise expected to come see her the Professor was not one of them. She looked up surprised but still looking quite miserable. "I feel lost Professor." She was about to explain why but her Aunt came in at that moment and she looked over with a woeful expression and caught her little cousin in one armed hug, turning so she could face her visitors. The grin on her aunt's face was a bit unnerving and she couldn't look back at her for too long so she looked back at her Professor, but deciding she didn't want to talk about why she was more miserable than she should be handed him the letter from the Murrays, making sure Dom didn't fall off her lap.

"I feel lost Professor."

Lucas nodded in sympathy, he knew how the girl felt. When he was handed the letter he read it, "I am sorry Louise" he said to the girl. Watching as an obvious family member came in. "Thana's has a letter for you as well" Lucas told her, handing over the letter that she had written.

Dear Louise,
I would like to thank you for coming to stay, I am glad you enjoyed it. I would like to formally offer you a place to stay at mine whenever you wish. You can take your pick of the rooms as well hun XD

It was awkward trying to reach for the letter and keeping her cousin on her lap without her falling off but Louise managed to take the letter and read over Dom's head where her chin was resting now. She scanned the letter twice, three times and on the fourth she squeezed her eyes shut and lowered her head onto Dom's. Bloody hell Thana was an angel, she thought, shaking and clutching the letter tightly in her hand, all the while holding her little cousin tightly and trying her hardest to not cry, she'd been doing far too much of that lately.

Lucas watched as Louise's aurora changed, it went from a sad dark colour to one more of relief. Hell, obviously the poor girl didn't know what had happened to her friend, Lucas didn't want to have to break it to her as why Thana hadn't come herself.

, Lucas himself was still reeling from it. His normally well kept appearance was diminished, he had large bags under his eyes and was looking paler than usual. His clothes were crinkled instead of being iron fresh, and his hair was going in all directions.

Tessa was glad to see that Louise was alive. She had heard about the attack on Salem. And Dom was glad that she could be with her cousin. She thought that it was best to leave out all the details on why Louise was here. For once she wasn't worrying about herself, but she was thinking about her niece. Dominique was hoping that Louise would come back and stay with them. Tessa wanted that more than anything; but she knew that would be up to Louise to decided. She could tell that Louise was trying hard not to cry. And this was breaking Tessa heart, all she wanted to do was hold her and tell her that everything will be fine. “ Louise you know that I am here for you if you need me. I know soon you should be getting out of here and there is always a room for you at the Grey manor.”

It took several minutes for Louise to feel even remotely calmer, lifting her head to look at Lucas and her aunt, her eyes flicking between them. A sick twisting feeling in her gut, guilt among other things, wanted to politely decline both invitations but she couldn't do that. So instead she merely nodded. She couldn't find the strength to speak just now and hoped that her expression showed her gratitude to the both of them. 

She stayed quite still for a little while longer before one of the medi-witches came in and politely made her way to Louise's bed. "I have some good news, you've been deemed well enough to go home." The nurse looked at Louise';s blank expression with some confusion. "Right well your things have been brought here, they'll be at the front desk for you to pick up on your way out." She nodded her head and left the small group to attend to the other patients.

Lucas listened to the invite given by Tessa Grey, he smiled softly. Louise wasnt alone, and she could choose who she lived with. He knew Thana wouldn't take offence if she declined hers, but kept his opinions to himself.
I have some good news, you've been deemed well enough to go home



" Miss Louise I'm going to go get something to eat, would you like anything?" Lucas asked, planning on giving the girl time to be alone with her family. " the offer is open to you as we'll Miss Grey" he said to the older woman.
