Kira was standing where she was told was the usual place for her class. She was still getting used to Salem and even though it was beautiful, it took some getting used to. Especially since she was used to Hogwarts and its grounds.
There wasn't anything around her to indicate what the lesson would be about, but the witch was still excited. Today's subject was one of her favourite things to talk about. Plus, she had a surprise for her students at the end of the class.

Michelle walked towards the grounds, where care of magical care was held. She wanted to learn about magical animals. She really haven't seen them irl just in the book pics what she have read before. She soon reached to the place where it was held and she saw that she was first one in the class. "Hello. Welcome to Salem and I hope you will like teaching here," she said with smile when she understood that professor was here new.

Diem walked towards her adoptive mother's class, Diem had enjoyed being in Care of Magical Creatures way before Kira began to teach and adopted her. It was still sad that Professor Seymour no longer was there and her school was gone as well. Yes Diem had fit in really well when she came to Salem but Lugarmago was her home and it was the same school her mother went to. Now it is gone along with her mother. Diem got to where Care of Magical Creatures was being held.

"Hello" Diem greeted to both Kira and the unnamed Wormwood.

Mary decided to take Care of Magical Creatures again this year, even though she didn't really need it. It was a fun and relaxing subject and she needed something like that. She still missed Professor Seymour, but the new Professor was promising and Mary wanted to give her a chance.

She walked down to the grounds and saw a fellow Wormwood and Diem already there. "Hi Michelle, Diem. Hello, Professor." As the witch greeted everyone, she put her bag on the ground and waited for the class to start.

"Hello, Miss Hastings and thank you!" Kira smiled gratefully. "It's a lovely school and the people are very nice, so I think I'll like it here." All of that was true and she couldn't wait to have enough free time to go wander around the grounds and the school. She found that wandering around was a great way to get to know a place.

She grinned brightly at her daughter. "Hello, Miss Malik." It was very weird to call Diem that, but she was working now and if she called all of her students that way, she couldn't make an exception for Diem.

"Afternoon, Miss McNeely. Well, it looks like nobody else is showing up, so we can get to it." Kira smiled and even though she was hoping more people would come, she was content with a small class.

"We'll be talking about Greek Mythical creatures today. As you know, some of those creatures actually exist. Can each of you please name one of the mythical creatures? It doesn't have to be one that actually exists, but it would be preferable."

Diem knew that her mother couldn't make an exception for her and Diem understood that and wasn't angry with her. The brunette would see her after and they could be able to talk. Kira began her class and Diem listened. The brunette had to keep this all professional so Diem needed to be Kira's student and not her daughter. When Kira asked them to name a mythical creature. Diem raised her hand.

"Centaurs."

Henley would practically skip to class just to make a point. There was probably only real class she had no problem attending and it definitely wasn't this one. The brunette hated these classes with so much passion that it wasn't even funny anymore, some of these Professors sucked at their job. Henley spotted the class and walked over, she heard a girl around her age say Centaurs and she wondered what the hell was being learned.

Mary sent a smile to Henley as she arrived. She's never really gotten along with the Nightshade and the girl always looked like she'd rather be anywhere else, but Mary still wanted to be polite.
After Diem gave her answer, the Head Girl raised her hand as well. "The Sphinx." One day, she wanted to come across one, they were supposed to be magnificent and wonderful. She wondered whether she would actually ever see one. It could be possible, if she was ever sent to a mission to Egypt as an Auror.

"Centaurs."

"The Sphinx."

Kira nodded to the girls. "Correct, 5 points to your Houses." She saw the late-comer, but only acknowledged her with a smile. She didn't mind if people were late to her lessons, as long as they showed up.

"Now, because I wasn't able to actually get any of those creatures to show you, unfortunately, we'll just talk about them. Can you tell me anything about them? About Centaurs, Sphinx, or any other creatures you might think of."

Henley rolled her eyes at the answer about Centaurs, she thought they were dumb and shouldn't exist in the world so when Kira Reid said how she wanted them to talk about one of those or to make up one of their own, Henley decided she'd just stick to one that has been said so she didn't have to do much. "A Sphinx has a human head and a lion body, they also are good at human speech and love puzzles, riddles, and engimas" Henley answered.

Diem listens to the Nightshade girl Henley as she explains what she thinks a Sphinx was and Diem couldn't help but agree with her, but she didn't know if her mother Kira would. When Henley finished speaking Diem was the next to speak. She raised her hand politely before speaking. "Centaurs are magical creatures whose head and arms are human while the rest of them are horse" Diem answered.

"Correct, Miss Faye, Miss Malik. Five points to each of you. Centaurs actually live in the Forest at Hogwarts and they're very interesting to talk to, though they tend to only talk about stars. They don't like humans very much, there was this Professor at Hogwarts one time, horrible woman and anyway, she offended them, a lot. But, they are fascinating and lovely, if they like you." Kira went on a bit and then caught herself.

"There's also Chimaeras, they've got a lion's head, a goat's body and a dragon's tail. Vicious creatures, they will kill you on sight, or at least maim you enough to land you in St. Mungo's for a long while. Or, St. Nick's, I think is the hospital here?" Kira thought for a moment and then shook her head. This wasn't really all that important. "Anyway, they're classified as XXXXX by the Ministry, which is very dangerous. Which is why I couldn't get one to show you here. It'd be very fascinating, but also very dangerous and I would probably get fired for putting the students in danger." she shrugged, a bit disappointed. "Chimaera eggs are a Class A Non-Tradeable Material, which basically means it's near impossible to get one."

"Griffins have also been mentioned in Greek Mythology and they've got the front legs, wings and head of a giant eagle, and the body, hind legs, and tail of a lion." Kira explained. "They're less dangerous than Chimaeras and have been known to befriend humans, but it should only be attempted by professionals. They eat raw meat and they're usually used for guarding treasure."

Kira looked at her watch and raised her eyebrows, it was almost the end of the lesson. "This is all we have time for today, apparently. Now, about homework. I want you to prepare for our next lesson, which will be dragons. I've got dragon figurines here, you all get one and you'll do research on the type of dragon you get and present it next lesson. You can pair up, or do it alone, I don't care. You'll have class with the fourth and fifth years, so you can pair up with any of them, if you want. "

She pulled a satchel with the figurines out of her bag and held it out so the students could each pick one dragon. "The figurines can't hurt you, but they're enchanted so they act like the actual dragons. Without the hurting and eating people part." Kira chuckled.

"If anyone is afraid of dragons and feel like they can't attend the lesson, I completely understand. You can tell me now or owl me and I'll prepare something else for you."

Mary wrote down the things the Professor was saying in her notebook with an absent-minded smile. She loved learning about new things and even though it was a shame they couldn't actually see any of the creatures, it was still interesting.

The Professor Reid mentioned dragons and the younger witch grinned brightly. Dragons were amazing in her opinion, as her tattoo confirmed. She hurried over to Kira and put her hand in the satchel. She could feel one of the figurines curling around her finger and she slowly pulled her hand back out. In her palm, curled up around her finger was a silvery-blue dragon and Mary had to force herself not to squeal.

"We can partner up with younger years, right?" the Head Girl asked, thinking of asking Victoria. The younger girl was usually very excited about everything and Mary needed to share her enthusiasm with someone. Plus, research with two Wormwoods would be very thorough.
