CoMC Lesson 2 (All Years)

Kira was beyond excited. Scientists in Romania and Belgium have been experimenting with crossbreeding and the results were the most adorable things the witch has ever seen. And she got them for the schools!

Crups and dragons.

Cragons!

They were tiny with scaly wings and some of them were furry, like crups and some of them scaly like dragons. They couldn't really breathe fire, only puffs of smoke, though it wasn't known whether it was only a prepubescent thing and if they would be able to breathe fire when fully grown. They'd just have to see!

This. This was why Kira loved the zoologist part of science. It was simply incredible.

She had received specific instruction on how to take care of them and has been doing that for the first part of school term, at her new house. She had to see whether the Cragons would play nicely with the students. The result was positive and the little creatures were finally ready to socialize with humans.

They were in a rather large playpen, acting exactly like puppies and Kira wondered whether she'd be able to ever stop thinking about how cute they were. She had everything she needed in boxes nearby and she waited for the students, hoping they'd forgive her for not being there before.

Callum made his way down to the the area where Care of Magical Creatures was held, and was rather surprised to find that he was the first to arrive. He walked forward to where Professor Reid was, with little furry and scaly creatures that were acting like puppy dogs.

"Cute," he commented as he arrived, noting the puffs of smoke from them "I'm guessing something mixed with a dragon?" he stated as he saw the wings.

Annie was back and ready for any kind of action. She had a great summer and was now focusing on her studies. She had made Nightshade Prefect and was glad that she was being noticed for all her hard work and dedication to the school. The Nightshade walked into her class which was Care of Magical Creatures and instantly saw her Professor. "Morning Professor Reid" Annie greeted her with kindness. Professor Reid was one of her favorite Professors.

Care of Magical Creatures had always been a subject that Carson excelled at, after all it was his family business, so it was one of the few classes he'd get up and go to without much complaining or hassle. Even though the Texan was not at all used to the cold of the North during the winter months, he braved it with a coat probably much thicker than he needed and walked down to class. When he saw the fuzzy little things romping around in the playpens he had a flashback to an article his mother had been talking about on his last visit home.

"Drups?" He asked up at the professor with a inquisitive look. He remembered that the creature was a crossbreed between Dragons and Crups but for the life of him could not remember what they were called.

Ares was glad to hear that Care of Magical Creatures was back, he didn't know what happened with the Professor but he was just glad to know that she was back and ready to teach. Ares walked towards the class and instantly saw the students lined up waiting for whatever lesson that is going to be taught to start. Ares made his way over and waited as well, he didn't really know everyone where he'd talk to them until he dropped but he did know faces.

Of course Diem was going to go to her own mother's class, she wouldn't do something that mean just because they were now related but not by blood. The Nightshade made her way inside the classroom and saw there was her mother plus others who were there before her. The brunette smiled at her mother and waited for the lesson to begin. She didn't like making a lot of things public but she knew that Kira adopting her had gotten out.

Brayden got to Care of Magical Creatures and immediately saw his best friend Ares. Ares and him were like two peas in a pod and they were the best of friends. The Belladonna noticed the several familiar faces there already. "Morning" he said to no one in particular but he was saying to Ares mostly. Now all he had to do was wait for the class to begin so he could learn something he didn't know.

The Belladonna walked to Care of Magical Creatures and instantly saw a lot of people she usually talked with from time to time. Well Ares she always talked to him due to them being related and everything, the blonde Veela waited for the class to begin. "Morning Professor Reid" she greeted to her Professor, now all Aphrodite had to do was wait for the class.

Thana made her way down to the CoMC class, she was glad it was back. It was a favourite class of hers, and it gave her a chance to be outside. Walking down she saw that Aphrodite and Ares were already there, Ares was the only other Wormwood so far so she walked over to him. She still had his gift to her, her now partly green hair. "Ares, Aphrodite,  Professor Reid" she acknowledged before standing next to Aphrodite and making sure to stay out of pranking way of Ares and his friend. She saw several others there as well that she knew.

Kira greeted the students with a warm smile. This group was slightly smaller than the Hogwarts one, but she loved them all the same and was happy they showed up at all. The fact that her daughter was here didn't change anything, though she was glad to see Diem again.

"Welcome, everyone. I think you all know me, and if you don't, I'm Professor Kira Reid. I want to apologize for not being here until now, but there was some personal things I had to take care of. To make it up to you, I brought in a treat today." she said, motioning to the playpen.

"They're called Cragons and they're a hybrid between crups and dragons. My brother was working on the research and experimenting that lead to them, so he was able to provide them for my class. Now, they've been classified as class XXX by the Ministry, which, as I hope you all know, means that competent wizards and witches should be able to cope with." she smiled at her students, conveying that she trusted them to be competent. Well, she hoped they would be. However, she needed them to know this wasn't something they could do half-heartedly. "Which, in turn means that I'll be supervising you when you'll be dealing with them and any misbehavior on either part won't be tolerated."

Kira did a quick head count before continuing. "What we're going to do, is I'm going to break you into groups of two. Each group gets a Cragons and notes on how to take care of them. To save time, I'm going to assign who's in which group."

She walked among the students, giving each of them a parchment with instructions for the lesson and gave one student out of each group a basket with things they'll have needed.

"Mr. Harper-Conrad and Miss Semele, you're the first group. Second group, Miss Brycelynn and Mr. Count. Third group, Mr. Hunt and Miss Oxton. Fourth group, Miss Malik and Mr. Oxton."

Diem heard as her mother spilt everyone into groups of two. When she heard she was with her fellow Head boy's brother, she looked for the young boy and approached him with a smile. "Hello, you must be.... Ares" she searched her brain for the right name. She thinks that she has it correct but isn't quite sure about it. She remembered her friend Apollo telling her a little about his younger siblings.

Brayden was hoping that he got paired up with Ares, but of course he was paired up with someone completely different. When he found out who the girl he was being paired with was, he had to admit she was pretty hot but still, he wanted to do this with his best bud and not some girl he barely knew. "Hello" he greeted the girl, he didn't know what else to say but his name. "Brayden Count."

Thana listened as she heard the groups being called, not minding who she was put with. When she heard her partner being called she walked over . "Hello, Thana Semele. Looks like we should get to it. Did you want to pick the cragon?" Thana offered to him.

Annie was approached by her partner and smiled happily at him. He definitely was younger then her but didn't look too young in age, maybe a few years. The Nightshade nodded her head. "Nice to meet you Brayden, my name is Annie, shall we begin our partnership in this assignment?" She asked him, she began to walk to get what she needed.
