Mr & Mrs Clause make a visit. (Josh, The press and Lady Eleanor)

After a an early start Louise Jane Grey couldn't keep still, she checked, double checked, and triple checked they had everything they would need. Honeydukes had given her crates upon crates of her custom ordered sweets, some of her own personal making sat in smaller crates. she hoped that the servants wouldn't mind helping to get them too the hospital, after that they'd hand them all over to the staff. She also had a few special boxes made up, after checking how many staff at st. Mungos would be working over the Christmas break, they each had a small box of assorted, adult sweets. Chocolate liquors, and biscuits to go with their tea or coffee breaks, and a large edible Christmas wreath with candy canes. She grinned and checked everything off her list again. She then moved to the sack of donated toys, it was a wonder so many people had these laying around not knowing what to do with them. The kids, she was sure, would be very excited. There were even some story books in there, both magic and muggle.

"I think that's everything. Well time to go." she looked up at the clock on the wall and then quickly checked her reflection in the mirror, giggling at the grey hair she'd had charmed into a motherly looking bun, then put on her wire framed glasses to complete the picture. She wore red robes to match her 'Husband's'  she was still baffled by his agreement, however reluctant it was, to this. When she was ready to go she took Josh's hand and gave what she hoped was a re-assuring squeeze, she would have said 'You can do this.' But knowing him he already knew that so there wasn't anything to be said, she just had to trust him not to act like, well himself.

Her personal Maid smiled and opened the floo network for them and she stepped through to the waiting room of the Hospital, they'd been told to expect many photographs but having flashes going off right after spinning through darkness was disorienting to say the least.

She smiled and waved politely as her crates and sack had followed them through the fireplace, some of the staff hurried over and levitated the fragile goods out of the way for the rest to come through.

Once satisfied nothing had gone a miss Louise followed the staff to the reception table and handed over her letter, explaining who she was and showing the ring. It didn't seem needed but she was told it was part of the procedure.

Louise could feel the tension rolling off of Josh, it would be impossible not to, she wondered if the photographers could sense it or if they were far too into getting pictures of them. She looked up at Josh when he threatened her. "Please keep the threats and un-pleasentries for after the visit. I'm used to your Josh-ness but if you scare these kids I will not be held responsible for a wagging tongue." She doubted that was much of a threat but it was all she had in her corner. "You're Santa now not Josh, you can yell or tell me off all you like after. The kids here are miserable enough without your help, they deserve a bit of fun and cheering up." She spoke soft enough so that none of the press had anything else to add to their writing.

The healer in front showed them to the Children's ward and smiled to the both of them, Louise returning it naturally and she took one of the sacks from another member of staff before checking over her costume again and then followed the healer inside after she'd heared her introduce them as Santa and Mrs Clause. They were immediately swarmed by the younger kids who were able to get out of bed and she made sure to hug each and every one, carefully, and greeted them all with 'Merry Christmas' and 'How are you M'dears' In her best motherly voice.

Looking at all their faces she knew she was immediately in love with all of them. "Now now children, shh shh. Alright Merry Christmas to all of you, My Husband and I have been thinking very hard this year. and we've decided that of all the children you are all deserving of a special visit." She beamed at all their excited whispering and looking so eagerly up at them. "Now you'll have to Excuse Santa for today he's very tired you know, working all year making toys for everyone. So I'll answer all your questions the best I can." She explained, taking most of the heat off of Josh, knowing he'd most likely drop dead if one more kid hugged him.

"Listen very carefully now, everyone will get a chance to pick a present from here." She held up the sack she'd brought and then checked to see their 'little helpers' were waiting outside before looking back. "Now form a line youngest to oldest please. Good boys and girls." She praised them for getting into a line for her, and making note of the ones still in their beds. Looking down at the smallest boy in the line she smiled for him. "Just pick one then sit on your bed, that's right one at a time now. My my these are very good children, don't you agree dear?" She asked, turning her head to look at Josh with the biggest smile she'd ever worn.

Thinking that was about as festive as Josh was going to get Louise handed out the toys to the bed bound children. She did wonder though, what on earth could have happened to make Josh be so dour even during the holidays. That was a quest for another day she thought, one way or another she'd get him to smile for real at some point.

"Right, I think it's time we play a little game. I want all of you to close your eyes really really tightly and everyone count to ten, very slowly now. On three then." As she counted down she turned to the staff at the door and gestured for them to come in. They silently passed all the beds and left a gift box of sweets on each bed, each with the child's name on the gift tag. She'd tailor made each box for every child's personal dietary requirements, and everyone had the same amount of everything.

"Alright open your eyes now." She looked around and tried to contain her excitement seeing it all over their faces as they tear into their care packages. She does have to wipe tears away though and made sure no one was looking while she did so. Some came back to hug her again and she happily gave them back. Some of the younger ones started asking rapid fire questions which she tried to answer just as fast. "Alright one at a time, raise your hand if you have a question and I'll answer. Alright?" The children readily agreed and sat around her in a semi circle while eating their sweets and raising their hands. She asked their names before answering their questions. Somehow it went from questions to story telling, she knew most of the old muggle stories and they seemed happy with those so she carried on and likely would till someone came to fetch them.

Knowing full well that she couldn't hide her grin if she tried Louise aimed it at Josh as she continued her stories for the children, some of the younger ones were falling asleep so she helped the staff put them back in their beds and looked at the boy in Josh's lap. She picked him up carefully and gave Josh a kiss on the cheek as a small thank you for not loosing his temper through the whole visit. She knew he was well out of his comfort zone but he did so well she couldn't help feeling so proud of him.

She gathered up some of the wrappers and put them in the bin provided as the staff took the boxes and left the room quietly. She bid goodnight to the ones still awake and with a last Merry Christmas took Josh's hand ready to go home. She didn't say another word to Josh, it wasn't needed and she didn't think he'd appreciate her saying anything, besides he had asked her not to, she wasn't' that heartless.
